Sony has pointed out that PlayStation Move controllers will be cheaper to buy in the UK than we had expected.
One PlayStation Move controller costs £34.99, one PlayStation Eye camera costs £24.99 and one PlayStation sub-controller costs £24.99.
Note that you do not need the sub-controller to play most Move games, and the DualShock 3 pad can substitute for it.
The Move controller and Eye will be bundled in a PlayStation Move Pack for £49.99. This also contains a Starter Disc, which offers an instructional set-up video plus playable demos for Sports Champions, Start the Party!, The Shoot, EyePet: Move Edition, TV Superstars, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, echochrome II, Tumble and Beat Sketchers.
Earlier today Microsoft defended Kinect's pricing by arguing that Sony's prices amounted to the same for a similar experience.

As is Capcom tradition, new characters for their fighting games are revealed through an agonizingly slow trickle process. We get that it’s a surefire way to build hype for games that can be a year (or more) away from release, but when you’re waiting for a sequel to a game released a friggin’ decade ago, “aintsy” is just one of the words to describe it... ...

As with Nintendo, Capcom blamed an unfavourable exchange rate, particularly as a result of "US and European markets shrinking under the stagnating economy." However, the poor results may have some wide-ranging results for Capcom's future release schedule. The company recently announced that they intend to increase the output of releases in their most popular franchises, and their financial report squarely places the "drastic decline" in profitability on the "increase of new flagship titles release from the same term of the previous year, when most sales were made of repeat titles." This "resulted in higher game development costs."

Despite having released two weeks ago, Christopher Nolan's Inception is still on the tip of everyone's tongue. Hell, it's still a trending topic on Twitter, one of the most fleeting portals of pop culture in the world. And what did one of its main stars have to say when he appeared on Jimmy Fallon last week? That he thinks Street Fighter II is every bit as strategic as chess, and that he spent his first round of hard-earned commercial money on his own arcade machine.

PlayStation 3 owners can grab a demo of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 from PlayStation Network. The only thing you need to access it is a Japanese PSN account.
Once you logon to Japan?s PlayStation Store select content for PS3 (fifth option) then trial version (fourth folder from the left) to find the demo.
The 251 MB file lets players fight Kakashi in a boss battle with Naruto and Sakura as a support character. Since this is a Japanese demo all of the voice acting and instructions are in Japanese. However, the demo shouldn?t be too hard to figure out if you played Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm.

Things are looking up for Sony following the company's financial results for the first quarter of 2010. For the period ending June 30, the Japanese electronics giant recorded overall operating profits of $753 million -- a massive improvement over the nearly $300 million loss the corporation posted during the same timeframe last year.According to Sony's breakdown (via Gamesindustry.biz), the PlayStation division still ran at a loss during this last quarter, though it's making huge strides towards profitability. Losses reached just $43 million during Q1 of this year, which adds up to just over a tenth of the previous year's first-quarter deficiency of $422 million.Much of those reduced losses can be attributed to increased sales for PlayStation 3 hardware and software. Sony more than doubled the number of PS3 consoles sold during the first quarter compared to 2009's figures, reaching 2.4 million units (up against last year's 1.1 million). The company moved an equally impressive number of PS3 games, with over 24.8 copies sold during the same period. Q1 2009's number: 14.8 million.

The PlayStation Move is set to launch in the US on September 19 alongside several bundles. The Starter Pack -- a $99 bundle including one PlayStation Move controller, a PlayStation Eye camera and a copy of Sports Champions -- is apparently going to be a bit different when it launches in the UK on September 15. MCV reports that the UK Starter Pack won't include a full copy of Sports Champions, instead giving gamers a taste of nine different titles.
The nine demos included in the package include snippets of six retail Move titles: Sports Champions, Start the Party, The Shoot, EyePet: Move Edition, TV Superstars and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. The remaining three demos will be for PSN games: Echochrome 2, Tumble and Beat Sketchers. In the UK, the Starter Pack will have a suggested retail value of £49.99.

Sony's latest financial results reveal that worldwide sales of PlayStation 3 now stand at 38.1 million units, following 2.4 million sales of the console in the company's first quarter, which ended 30th June 2010.
Microsoft announced a few days ago that Xbox 360 has shipped 41.7 million units worldwide, although it has had a year longer on the market than its main competitor.
2.4 million sales of PS3 in Q1 represents a 118 per cent increase on last year's 1.1 million sales, although things weren't so rosy for the PSP, sales of which declined slightly to 1.2 million compared to 1.3 million in the same period of 2009.
The mighty PS2, meanwhile, sold a sterling 1.6 million units.
Money-wise, the Networked Products & Services division, of which games is a component, saw sales rise 32.4 per cent to 325 billion yen, of which games contributed 142 billion yen and PCs the rest.
